Geaux Teach: Unlock Education
Geaux Teach is an annual event hosted by the Department of Education Professions to attract high school students into the teaching profession. This event is held on McNeese’s campus and marketed through social networking as well as with event materials. During this event, 11th and 12th grade students are invited to attend engaging sessions, tour our facilities, and participate in Q & A sessions.
This year's theme is Unlock Education, where students will participate in escape room activities that align with content material in P-12 education. This Geaux Teach event hopes to "unlock" students' passion and desire to positively impact others through the teaching profession. Students attending the event will participate in effective and current teaching strategies in mini-sessions throughout the day.
Funds raised for this event will assist in purchasing materials for the event sessions as well as purchases take-away materials and lunch for student participants.
